Great piece, Phaylen! I am not quite old enough to remember the first Stonewall, or even the event where Sylvia was shouted down (I was alive, but still young in both cases), but it still hurts to see history repeating itself in this way.
As an aside, my wife is a cis woman who has traditionally identified as bisexual (she ID’d as lesbian before she knew bi was a thing, and lately is thinking pansexual is more descriptive). Through my relationship with her and others who make up the “B” in “LGB,” I can say that the B gets erased an awful lot as well. In other words, it is the “L” and the “G” that seem to have hegemony and only support a specific (predominantly non-POC, middle class) narrative.
